Thirsty Thursday: Cucumber-Mint Lemonade

While I know I wasn’t the one who came up with the whole “Thirsty Thursday,” saying, it seems appropriate to post drinks on Thursdays. You know, help everyone get prepped for the weekend!

Grant and I had been planning out a few drinks over the last couple of weeks. I made sure to check with my cousin, Rachel, that she would be at the lake to help taste test… She didn’t take too much convincing.

Ingredients:

  • Ketel One Cucumber Mint Vodka

  • Fresh Mint Leaves

  • Cucumber slices- for garnish

  • Good lemonade- my preference would be Simply Lemonade, but this version from Aldi is pretty good too!

  • Ice

Instructions:

  • Fill the glass with ice

  • Add mint leaves

    • PRO TIP: You should clap the mint between your hands. You will probably feel like an idiot doing this, but it helps release the oils from the leaves so the seep into your drink more. You can also muddle them instead, but we didn’t have the right tools for that.

  • Pour vodka over the mint leaves. Since this was a pretty small glass, I only added one shot, but it could be more depending on what you’re going for…

  • Fill the rest of the glass with lemonade.

  • Stir.

  • Add sliced cumber to the side of the glass for garnish.

  • Best when drank on a hot day, with your favorite people.

Alternative:

  • This can be done without alcohol by just skipping the vodka. Lucy was able to join in with this one.
